I just pre-ordered! Although I was feeling cheap after eBay and PayPal took a bite out of my auction's earnings, so I didn't feel like splurging on shipping. Amazon estimates I'll get it on the 17th, but enh, I know with super saver it's more of a "we'll get it to you when we get it to you" thing.

Wow, this is cheaper than I thought. I'll check and see if they have it tomorrow at the Wal-Mart near my house--I need something new for my DS since it's either been Team Fortress 2 or Advance Wars DS for like the past month (not that I'm getting tired at all of either game).

I just one-click bought from amazon! I never thought it'd feel so satisfying. Of course this means I lost the No New Games Until March Challenge. I'll never win.

It's OK, they're actually old games. Supposedly. You're in the clear.

I won't have a chance to pick up the US version until Friday the earliest. In the meantime, I'll be playing along with the import version.

Maybe I'll actually get through Guadia Quest before then! Also:

The only one I've used so far is the "no rival cars" cheat for Rally King SP. The second challenge (Finish Course 2 within 2:28.) gave me trouble, and even with the cheat activated, I still just barely made it.

I've been playing it sparingly, because I don't read crazy moon language so I need the FAQ to actually know what to do. I've been limiting my use of it, though, since most of the challenges in the other games can be completed by just playing through them normally.

Guadia Quest looks like it'll be about 12-15 hours long by the time I finish. And I'm not sure if I should fight the optional super boss-like thing.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, though now I'm doubly sure now that I know how girthy the game is.

I got the call from Ashley just now, so at least one Gamestop has it in.

It's possible. I thought she called on the same day as I got Persona 4, but I might be remembering wrong.

Perhaps never mind! I'm overexcited about this game.

My Gamestop didn't have Retro Game Challenge in yet, and now I'm not really going to have time to pick it up until Friday. I'm going to have to wait for it. :(

The girl at the register mistook it for Retro Atari Classics when I asked about it.

The guy over the phone thought I said Naruto. Sorry, nowhere close to what I want.

EB isn't expecting it until the 11th. Which probably means the 12th.

And I had the day off tomorrow.

Dangit!

I had to go out near the Gamestop anyway. I might as well have tried, since I can't go tomorrow.

I've had SOME success with going on Tuesdays. For example, I picked up Dragon Quest IV on a Tuesday! But Retro Game Challenge... not this time. It's just as well, since I have an exam tomorrow.

That's because Square Enix also usually ships early, despite the vaunted "Rule of Tomm" not mentioning it. :o

Hey, I've gone to get games on Tuesdays before, bamboozled by tales of people reaping the benefits of early shipments. But it's never once paid off.

I've only bought a couple Square Enix games at release, but FF12 came out on Tuesday, Halloween 2006, (this is no surprise because there's practically nothing bigger) and when I went to pick up Infinite Undiscovery because I got the call, the guy told me they didn't have it and I should come back tomorrow. Then, when I was halfway home, I got another call "hey, it came in."

I went to fetch it today, but it was not in. Alas, I did not see the word of Tomm until afterward. I could have saved myself a trip.

Tomorrow, perhaps. I want to play the hell out of Gaudia Quest. Even if I still need to finish Chrono Trigger DS.

...and Ecclesia.

.........and Dragon Quest IV DS.

Ordered today via Newegg. I always compare with newegg before I buy with amazon. Sometimes they have different discounts (although this time both sites price it at 27.99), plus newegg uses 3-day shipping for it's free shipping service.

It really is the most aggressively average and nondescript game title you could imagine, when you think about it.

I also like how so far, two pages of Fun Club talk is bitching about how the game isn't out yet.

I'm almost done with Guadia Quest in crazy moon language.

I know. I'm just as surprised about how far I've gotten with it as the rest of you.
